Shock the Monkey

It's a slightly different meaning to the one in Peter Gabriel's 1982 song, but after more than two years aping the apes, we know how to do it better than some monkeys.

This is a story of evolution that comes more or less automatically if you are dealing with a subject intensively. It's the combination. Gunnar's knowledge and development together with our expertise that has brought the new Poincaré speaker to life.

The turning point in the development process was the tweeter.

The high frequencies of the original Orangutan 96 and Makako are covered by a driver that has size-related connection issues with the excellent woofer.

Seas in Norway has a driver that matches perfectly with the 10-inch paper cone. The Dr. Kurt Müller membrane could be optimized with a large waveguide.

However, the Poincaré 36 has several features that set it apart from its predecessor, the O96.

These include a complete enclosure made of 30-millimetre plywood, an internal quarter-wave absorber and high-quality electrical components, as well as a decoupled tweeter for acoustic and mechanical purposes.

Last but not least, the woofer has been optimized with a specially manufactured phase plug at our partner company.

Of course, the appearance and touch of a speaker are also very important. That's why we use all our expertise to create a surface that you will enjoy touching.

The other apes should be afraid of the Poincaré 36, but not the listeners.

The sound comes so easily and from one origin that the speaker completely disappears. It's like a very good full-range driver, but with a wider range.

It's very worth listening to before spending too much on other primates!
